Actually, I wore a white long sleeved shirt today, only at work I was getting hot sorting through the bins of clothes so I changed. Now I am freezing.

I really like the color of these jeans when they are turned inside-out (like in the pictures). I also love the pockets with the cute little flowers and the dark seam and hem.

Also, canvas shoes are not just for nurses anymore...they are really cute and comfortable, and they go with pretty much everything.

clack clack

Clack clack is the sound that these fabulous vintage boots make walking down the hallway. Some days, clacking shoes are the just the right thing. However, I did just realize I look quite color coded like the ladies of the Red Hat Society (hmmm...must realize that sooner next time!)

Also, check out this sweet vintage double faced watch I thrifted from work. I've never seen anything like it and I love it - it's unique and chic.

Yeah, I'm back to scarves and boots because it did snow - seven inches - on Saturday. An f-ing blizzard! Ah, Wisconsin at its finest!

bread not bombs

I worked in the morning at my bookstore job and then drove over to the thrift store to do the closing shift. Not necessarily the most fun day ever, but hey, I could have no feet or something horrible like that. This is what I wore...

The jacket was a thrift find as was my vintage bread not bombs button.

I have to do something about that hair...my brother told me that I'd eclipse the sun if I stood directly in front of it. He loves me.

workin' overtime on the seduction line...

Tee hee - this shirt was a gift from my bro because I love the song You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC. This is what I wore to work today (these are my boyfriend's pants).

Yeah, so it's supposed to snow on Saturday - are you kidding me? I will quit Wisconsin if it does. Seriously.

nothing is real

This is what I wore to work today...not the greatest outfit to combat the pouring rain, but I managed with my trench coat.

I love these high-waisted pants sooooooooo much!

I also love sitting in my house and listening to the rain...it is very calming - nature is beautiful.

chuck in a bucket

Hey, check out these groovy Converse Chucks I got brand new from work! Completely and utterly worth the $2.70 I spent on them.

This is what I wore to work...I would've worn it to school, too, but yay, I'm on spring break! Yeah, it was cold and rainy and I spent the whole day cleaning my room, but it was spring break-y in a way.

The necklace is one of my best antique store finds ever! It has a little picture of George Washington and his army crossing the Delaware River (you know, that picture from the Revolutionary War?). I am kind of a history freak and have loved the era of the American Revolution ever since the American Girl books I read when I was, like, seven years old. Needless to say, I pounced on this sweet pendant when I came across it at my local antique shop.

Thanks again to everyone for their sweet comments - you have no idea how uplifting they can be! Peace out!

i'm it

Yay! I was tagged by the super duper Connie from Meet Me By The Water for the proximity award (my blog invests and believes in proximity!)! The rules for this award that I will pass on to eight others are as follows:
  • the award should be sent to your favorite eight bloggers and they should forward it to eight of their favorites
  • include the text for Proximidade (the award) on your blog
I will be tagging these amazing bloggers who leave the sweetest comments ever (and also have killer style) and contribute to friendships via the blogosphere:
Please check out all of these lovely blogs! You will find something unique and lovely on each one!

Back to the normal...here are the outfits I wore to the orthodontist and work today. Neither one is especially thrilling, but it was kind of a hectic blah day, if you know what I mean. The outfit on the right is one of my four outfits I put on before actually deciding on the one on the left. I was going for comfort, okay? And I'm sorry for the weird and tired faces, but my spring break starts tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to relax!

say what?

Can I get a hells yeah?! I'm so happy - I got such a good grade on my math exam! The best grade in about five years! It really made my whole day...that and my bf sent me the sweetest email that made me cry (in a good way) and that made my day, too.

This is what I wore today...not too exciting, but it was one of those days where really record breaking warm yesterday, and then today was back down to 40 degrees (F). So I wanted to be springy and cute, but at the same time didn't want to freeze my tush off.

I really am getting quite the mini fro, aren't I? Oh well...as soon as it gets warm (where it's warm every day) I'm going to get it cut. Hopefully the short cut will help combat the summer frizzies!

(Yes, Syana, another Beatles tee! One can never have enough...)

erin go braghless

Happy St. Patrick's day, all! I hope you are celebrating your Irish heritage (if you have any) and not just getting wasted, as it seems that that is all this mini-holiday has turned into.

This is what I wore to work today! I am so in love with this purple belt - it creates the perfect silhouette and just rocks in general.

I so cannot wait until this weekend as it will be the beginning of my spring break! Yay! Hopefully the weather will be like it has been today (70 degrees (F)) and beautiful! I love wearing skirts!

my sweater is better

Ha ha ha! Check out my amazing sweater that was donated to work that I snatched up before someone could bale it! It is seriously the sweetest thing I have ever seen, but then again , I am drawn to strange and silly things...But come on - how could you not like it?

This is what I wore to uni today and what I'm going to wear to work in about a half an hour. I am seriously loving working in a thrift store. This jacket is also second hand, except it was given to me by my boyfriend's mom (it was hers when she was my age). I think it is awesome with this outfit. Oh, and I am also wearing my I heart my boyfriend button because I heart my boyfriend. I also heart all of you.

cleanin' out m' closet

This picture was taken in August '08 at my grandparent's 60th anniversary party...that's my grandma and grandpa on the couch.

Even though funerals are sad, I like the fact that they bring people together. My grandpa's funeral was very sad, but it was also full of family. There were tears, laughs, old stories, really old pictures - it was a real experience. There's so many people out there so full of love, ready to comfort and console and tell you funny stories from when your dad was little.

Love really is the best medicine. People...everyone...even though it seems so much easier to hate and so much harder to love, I promise, the effort it takes to put that love out instead of that hate is so worth what it brings you. Please work on saying I will love you anyways. Despite all the annoying habits, bad attitudes, or hateful behaviors, there is something in everyone that is worthy of love. You just have to look.

So...yesterday I mentioned a cleaning episode I had, and I am not finished by far, but I am so proud of my new shoe racks! Here's a preview...

what's new, pussy cat?

Haha...that song (from the title) makes me think of Steve Martin in Father of the Bride dancing and singing that song in his old vintage tux! Laughs.

This first outfit is what I wore to school today, and the second is what I wore to work. The vest, scarf and boots are new (from work).

I'm so glad it's the weekend, even though my grandpa's funeral is tomorrow and that will be a downer for sure. All my work was done and I was ready to relax, and then bang, math exam on Monday...study study study. Lame. Plus I really miss my boyfriend who went back to NY.

Ohmygosh! I have to show you pictures of my closet which I just cleaned out today! I'm so proud of it! I organized the clothes and stuff and then added two boards on the bottom of the closet to make shelves and now I have three levels for shoes! That was much needed. I will totally take some pictures tomorrow. Oh, and I even swept down there...so proud.

the best of times...the worst of times...

The reasons for my tiny hiatus are:
  • my grandpa (my dad's dad) died Friday night
  • my boyfriend came from NY Friday night for his spring break
So...something devastating and something amazing happening right at the same times. Yeah, my grandpa was 83 and he suffered from Alzheimer's. He was at the stage where they forget how to swallow yet can't have an IV in because they pull it out. I really miss him.

My boyfriend and I had a bunch of fun, though. We went to the Titanic exhibit at the Milwaukee Museum and it was really cool! I had seen it a couple years earlier in Chicago, but I liked this one better. Has anyone else seen it? Then we went back to his house and watched Titanic the movie. I cried. I love the outfits Kate Winslet wears in that movie - especially the first one with that amazing hat. The rest of the week were spent eating good food and cuddling.

This is an outfit I wore a couple of days ago. I bought this awesome Cheers (my favorite TV show) sweatshirt for really cheap at the thrift store (they were going to bale it! I saved it, though). Then, I customized it by cutting off the hem and the sleeves and the neck. I almost wore really big dangly hoops with this outfit but then I thought I would look way '80's. Not that there's anything wrong with the '80's, I just like any specific fashion in moderation.

I also got my paycheck today and went on a mini shopping spree at work (stop rolling your eyes, Bob). I didn't really do any shopping, I just bought some of the things that I had set aside and not had any money to buy earlier. I have to wash most of what I got, but here's a preview...

I know what you're thinking - ewww...second hand shoes. But don't worry - I only buy the ones that are donated new, or else, yeah, that is really gross.

I am sending you all positive and loving thoughts.

This is what I wore to uni today...got a new paper to write (what is virtue?) and a test next week, but the best news is - my boyfriend is coming home for his spring break today!

I love wearing skirts! They're so nice and I feel like I can actually move my legs! Plus I got to break out my awesome black trench...yay spring!

big bright green pleasure maching

Here is my outfit I wore to work tonight! Sorry about the weird just-got-out-of-the-shower hair. It was SOOO busy at work tonight - sales are picking up as the economy declines...ironic in a way.

For any of you who have tried to take jumping pictures with the self-timer - it's an art isn't it - getting the timing exactly right? I took about thirty before getting myself actually in the air. I don't know...something about this awesome (thrift store find) jacket made me feel like I needed to be airborne.

the further adventures of "buh-ens"

For explanation of "buh-ens," go here! I really like this outfit, one, because it was warm enough to wear a skirt, two, because I never ever hardly wear skirts or dresses unless it's an occasion (somthing I hope to remedy this season). And three - because this is a new coat! I got it at work (thrift store) with the price tags still on it from the original store! For only $6.29! I love my job. These are my mom's leggings from the '80's and this is my awesome vintage velvet hat.

Speaking of my new job...I haven't been working there for even a month and I have been already promoted to Supervisor! I got the store keys and am supposed to be supervise-y when the managers don't work...groovy, no? Hells yeah.

This is what I wore today:
  • green tee
  • wool jacket
  • straight leg jeans
  • wedges
Finally finished my paper!!!!!! Yay! Hopefully I will have some more inspiring words and outfits in a few days after I get that paper fully off my mind.

theodore geisel

Happy birthday Dr. Seuss! (No Pat, no don't sit on that!) This is what I wore to classes today...
  • skinny jeans
  • black turtleneck
  • vest
  • cardy boots
My extras were:
  • red woven belt
  • owl necklace
Woot (hoot!) for amazing owl necklaces!

I am so sick of Wisconsin weather! Spring come soon! As soon as it gets warmer I'm getting my light and cute spring clothes out (and a haircut!!!)
