where the streets have no name

I am currently reading Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane and I cannot put it down! It is so good, and so different from anything I've read lately. I want to go see the movie when my boyfriend is here for his spring break next week, but I always like reading the books first!

I wore my black velvet dress today, channeling, in a way, the old fashioned and sinister feelings I'm getting from the book. I added my ochre tights (I wish so bad that they were not footless...but that's the only kind they had in this color), and my cute plaid flats (that I got for 75% off at Target!).

I went for brown accessories with this gorgeous ring and tortoise shell barrette.

Tomorrow is my long day - 9am to 8:30pm at school...sigh, not looking forward to it...but hopefully it will give me time to catch up on studying and the like during breaks. How exhilarating. Not.

I am excited to plant flowers this spring...I think I'm going to channel my new found love for gardening into lots and lots of gorgeous floral prints and motifs...(and, well, gardening, obviously).

The movie creeped me out a lot. I want to read the book now to see if they left anything out. I LOVE the color of your tights here. It looks amazing with the black dress.

Oh, I heard the movie was real good too! Can't wait to see it!

You look absolutely darling in that dress, definitely chanelling a bit of the old and sinister feelings you felt too. I know what you meant about the tights, it would have been so lovely if they weren't footless. But you still look amazing:)

I agree, I totally don't get the footless tights thing. I think it's something to do with thinking leggings and tights are the same - a man must have designed it (I can't seem to get my husband to grasp the concept!).

The velvet dress is beautiful (I'm reading Tolstoy at the moment and definitely want to do a book inspired fashion post). The leggings? As lovely as Blaire Waldorf!

I love your dress, velvet dresses are the best. I adore the way that you added colour to this outfit. Both your tights and shoes look so good.

Sorry for my rather late reply on your question about the star favicon on my blog! I was trying to find the tutorial article that I used to create one but I just couldn't find it, so here's one link to give you a general idea.

And a site where you're able to generate favicons:)
