Though this weather is still trying to deceive us, summer is on its way, and I have no doubt that this will be the best summer yet. I have literally been working eighteen hours a day for the past three weeks to put big changes into motion. I hope to be able to share the fruits of my labor with everyone soon, but for now I'm going to continue to working like a dog, and living hard to Bruce Springsteen songs.
There is only one thrift shop in my area, and though it is small, I frequent it often, coming home with gems like vintage nightgowns, beautiful wool sweaters, and denim shorts, button down tops, and tee shirts all destined for a date with a sharp pair of scissors. This top was a surprise find, someone's unwanted souvenir from the National Archives in Washington DC, it features the Constitution on the front (eek-worthy for any history geek like me!). I refashioned it, cutting out the collar, most of the sleeves, and adjusting the length to get rid of the ugly National Archives, Washington DC text. I love how the Constitution is juxtaposed with the playful insouciance of the cropped and chopped tee shirt.
