road trip recap: Laurel Grove Cemetery (Savannah, Georgia)

After not being able to post all my cemetery photos from New Orleans, I was suuuuper excited to get to these! It was kind of dumb luck that I stumbled onto this place. I looked up on my GPS where a YMCA was (so I could get my shower on), drove there, and the cemetery ended up being right across from my destination. Perfect! Again, it's hard to explain the atmosphere exactly. The Spanish Moss (the stuff hanging from the trees) is definitely what helps makes this place so darn aesthetically pleasing. Well, of course that, and everything else, haha. There are just so many textures, and they all combine so wonderfully! This is THE most beautiful cemetery I've ever experienced in person. If ever there was a time to say I can't even...that was it. I spent a good amount of time here trying to capture some of the beauty on camera. Please enjoy!

Basically, I woke up in a Wal-Mart parking lot, showered at a random YMCA, explored the cemetery, and then said goodbye to Savannah as I headed North. Like I say in all these recap posts, I wish I could have stayed longer and gotten to enjoy more that this city had to offer, but I had to keep on movin'.

What an amazing place, but I think it can be quite scary when it is dark, or starts to get dark... I love the rusty fence and all the gorgeous shades of grey and green. Love to see more photo's from your trip!
