wearing // ouija board print and a bodycon skirt

This outfit started out with the mauve blouse, shorts, and a big floppy bow tie. Too business casual. Then it became Ouija Board shirt, shorts, and a long black jacket. Too gothic. Then I didn't want to take the Ouija shirt off because I'd already fixed my hair, so I just threw the blouse on again over it. Lastly, I added the bodycon skirt. Sheesh, dressing myself sure can be a production at times. My point, I suppose, is that sometimes outfits evolve over time or a matter of minutes, in my case. I would have never thought to wear this blouse unbuttoned over another shirt, but I actually love how this ended up looking in the end.

I found this shirt at my local thrift store (isn't that the way the best love stories begin?). I almost put it back because of the size (it was a size 14, and I usually wear around a size 4). Then I though ehhhhhh, it doesn't look that big, so I picked it back up, carried it around a bit, and put it back because I concluded that it was too expensive ($5, hey, I'm poor). I came back to it a third time and thought, well, I'll just try it on. And I fell in love. I looked at the tag again and saw it was 100% silk, which didn't make the price seem that bad. Then I noticed it had a little stain on it (urgh), but I decided it wasn't very noticeable, and then used the stain to my advantage to get the price knocked down at the register. So I walked out with a gorgeous, silky, wonderfully colored blouse for only one dollar. And that is the story of how this pretty mauve blouse and I came together (still a better love story than Twilight).
