just an ordinary fairy tale

I've had this dress for a few years, and even though I'm aiming to donate a huge chunk of my clothing collection, I can't bear to part with this huge pink dress. I scored it for a few dollars way back when I worked at a thrift store. It's a few sizes too big, so it doesn't fit too well, and I doubt I'll ever be able to wear it to an actual function, but I just love stepping into it and playing princess for a few hours. My hair may be messy, my nails free of polish, and my life in general a far cry from perfect, but for a moment none of that matters.

Check out how I styled this dress in the early days of my blog here and here!

I love the idea of slipping on a beautiful dress, just to wear around the house. These photos definitely have a fairy tale-esque vibe to them, I love it!

That's gorgeous!! Sometimes you gotta hang on to those impractical, but totally magical pieces.

i know how you feel. there's something about being grown up but still playing dress up with an article of clothing that really doesn't work, but just DOES at the same time. totally hear you.

I totally understand keeping your dress, who doesn't want to look like a princess for a day.

This is gorgeous! I've definitely bought a few outlandish things from the thrift store here and there just because they were a couple of dollars, and one of them being this super elaborate skirt. I've literally never worn it outside of the house, but it's so fun to put on and twirl in in my room when I'm bored, haha! It's fun to channel that inner princess from time to time :)

Your vintage fairytale princess dress is gorgeous! I LOVE that pink colour. The layered chiffon and the embroidered bodice are beautiful - you do look like a fairytale princess wearing it!
